The harmonious onslaught of Jibe's music is that of epic proportion. This was proven yet again in the historic theater-turned-venue Shadow Canyon in College Station, TX. Entering the venue, I was instantly bombarded with an explosive blend of guitar, bass, drums, and the pleading tones crooned by lead singer, Joe Grah. The somewhat conservative crowd was almost instantaneously drawn to the charismatic ways of Joe. His constant interaction with the audience led to a mutual appreciation, as well as the total annihilation of his pants. "I think I'm starting to feel a breeze back here", Joe said jokingly as he finally realized his pants, or lack there of, had been ravaged. But stepping aside from Mr.Grah's pants, one might find their performance as a whole superb, fantastic, energetic, or even inspiring.
As always, an energetic thrashing of the drums provided by Ben intensified the blend, adding feeling and rhythm. Unfortunately for him, however, he noticed the rip in Joe's pants WAY before Joe did, if ya know what I mean... Bassist Corey Tatro and guitarist Tobey Bittenbender rocked out the music powerfully. The combo was almost toxic, impossible to not acknowledge as being awesome.
In a candid interview with Ben, he revealed that nearly 2/3 of the music they had played was new material that they plan to record for a new album starting in March. From what I heard, the new album will be a must have for any music fan. Look for the new album later this year, but if you can't wait, you can hear all of the new material at any live show, so check it out!
