If you haven't already made plans to check out one of the many summer festivals happening this year, prepare to mark your calendar. Summer is always a breeding ground for music festivals, and some of the top festivals are spanning multiple stages, days, and acres in the hottest music spots around the US . This summer is not any disappointment to the summers of the past, featuring some of the best line-ups of bands seen in recent history. Vans Warped Tour 2004 - ( Elizabeth says: "Touring Punk festival meets X-Games.")
The Vans Warped Tour is a seasoned veteran in the Punk world, bringing sweet rock love to thousands of fans nationwide. In its tenth year, the tour kicks off on 06.25.04 in Houston , TX and rolls on relentlessly until its wrap on 08.16.04 in Boston , MA , hitting 47 cities, 2 countries, and hundreds of porta-potties in the process. On the menu for this year's tour includes Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, and The All-American Rejects. As usual, tickets are priced to please at a mere $25 (plus S&H/fees), which gives you access to the day-long music and fun. Music Midtown 2004 - ( Elizabeth says: "Southern charm at its best, more music that you can imagine, at a ridiculously low price")
Music Midtown is returning in 2004 for their tenth year again in the heart of downtown Atlanta , GA. As always, the ticket prices are unbelievably low, with a 3-day pass this year only $45. A one-day pass is $40, but it is well worth the $5 difference to experience the entire festival. The event takes place April 30, May 1, and May 2 in the center of downtown, easily accessible by Atlanta 's train system MARTA ( www.itsmarta.com ). Listed on the initial line-up includes bands such as Foo Fighers, Fuel, Damien Rice, Fountains of Wayne, Joss Stone, Puddle of Mudd, and Trapt, among several others. Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival - ( Elizabeth says: " California never seemed so beautiful.")
Coachella, now in its fifth year, is the mother-of-all festival that is set to take place in Indio , CA on May 1 st and 2 nd . An unbeatable line-up at this year's festival includes such artists as Radiohead, The Pixies, The Cure, The Flaming Lips, stellastarr*, Bright Eyes, and countless others. A 2-day pass to the festival that gives you access to all stages for the entire festival is $140.00, plus a $1 donation to a charity. Parking to the event is free, and limited on-site camping is available for $25/night. Not the outdoor type? Rolling Rock® Town Fair - ( Elizabeth says: "Beer + live music = GOOD")
The Rolling Rock Town Fair is set to happen on 07.31.04 in Latrobe , PA , the home of the beer brand. On the line-up are Staind, Disturbed, NERD, Hoobastank, the Crystal Method, and Three Days Grace. Following its main event, the festival is hitting the road and traveling to Boston , Philadelphia , and Seattle with Sevendust, Finch, and Three Days Grace headlining. Ozzfest 2004 - ( Elizabeth says: "The place where more males wear eyeliner than females, appropriately.")
Ozzfest 2004 is definitely not going to disappoint. Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Black Label Society, and Superjoint Ritual are all scheduled to play the main stage during the tour. The touring festival kicks off on July 10 in Hartford , CT and ends on September 4 in West Palm, FL. The tour is offering a "Party Like a Rockstar" package to fans at a price of $250 (plus applicable fees) which includes a GA Pit ticket (where available), autographed tour program, backstage tour, and much more.
